DESCRIPTION
Delivered at best value for the City of Phoenix, this environmentally sensitive heavy civil project involved constructing a 2.33-mile shared-use pathway along the south bank of the Salt River, extending from 32nd Street through the SR-143 overpass. Notable for its intricate work on steep cement-stabilized aggregate (CSA) slopes beneath the I-10 and SR-143 overpasses, the project required precise engineering and skilled construction under challenging site conditions. Terraced structural retaining walls were integrated into the CSA slopes to support the reinforced concrete pathway and create a visually appealing, functional design that harmonizes with the surrounding infrastructure.
