DESCRIPTION

Performed under our City of Phoenix JOC, this environmentally sensitive and highly visible project involved the construction of a new earthen parking lot and associated civil infrastructure at the base of the South Mountain Preserve. Located on Chandler Boulevard adjacent to the Foothills of Ahwatukee residential community, the project required thoughtful coordination due to its prominence and proximity to protected desert landscape.

Within just 10 business days of receiving the City’s request, Banicki priced, mobilized, and began construction. Banicki also provided in-house design services for all traffic control plans, pedestrian control plans, and environmental BMPs/SWPPP required for this project.

The diverse scope of work included a new earthen parking lot, new AC pavement section on Chandler Boulevard, Type IV slurry seal, 18” Class V RGRCP storm drain installation, riprap channel construction, placement of salvaged boulders from the trailhead, concrete flatwork, a concrete driveway, decomposed granite, clearing and grubbing, landscaping, hydroseeding, a swing gate, traffic treadle, and soil stabilization using soil binders.

PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Banicki supported the City of Phoenix with comprehensive preconstruction services, including scope development, value engineering, HCSS estimating, cost modeling, AGTEK earthwork takeoffs, Primavera P6 CPM scheduling, and site logistics planning.
