DESCRIPTION
Performed under our MCDOT JOC, this emergency job order included the rapid construction of intersection safety improvements at Carefree Highway and 32nd Street. The project addressed traffic merging challenges by constructing a protected acceleration lane on eastbound Carefree Highway for vehicles turning from southbound 32nd Street.
Scope of work included 0.40 miles of roadway reconstruction, concrete medians, 1,050 CY of roadway excavation, 2,167 SY of subgrade preparation, 1,344 tons of aggregate base, 804 tons of asphalt pavement, 2,246 LF of curb, clearing and grubbing, and full landscape restoration. Banicki priced, mobilized, and began construction within 14 business days of receiving the JOC request.
