DESCRIPTION

Performed for the City of Kingman, this high-profile CMAR project encompassed the complete reconstruction and beautification of downtown Beale Street from 1st Street through 6th Street. The project’s improvements also included the reconstruction of four intersections on Beale Street. As a prominent tourist attraction for Kingman, with over 40 businesses along the project corridor, Banicki meticulously coordinated with all businesses to maintain unimpeded pedestrian access throughout all phases of construction, utilizing pedestrian barriers and ADA-compliant walkways.

VALUE ENGINEERING

To ensure the full scope of improvements could be constructed within budget, Banicki partnered with the City of Kingman and designer WSP to implement 38 significant value engineering initiatives during

preconstruction. During preconstruction, Banicki collaborated with designer WSP and all utility owners to mitigate 22 utility clashes identified at the 60% design stage. We successfully redesigned the intersection curb return geometry and irrigation lines to eliminate all underground utility relocations, requiring only the relocation of two overhead power poles for the entire project.
